Josie is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology at Rutgers University-New Brunswick and her Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University.
Josie has worked with adults, adolescents, families and couples with diverse backgrounds in various community settings. She has experience treating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships/attachment concerns, and the impacts of intergenerational and societal factors on mental health. She focuses on working collaboratively with clients so that they feel heard and understood while they learn ways to make progress towards their overall wellness goals. She uses an eclectic and holistic approach to therapy, pulling from a variety of resources to meet each client’s nuanced needs. She utilizes psychodynamic theory and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy), as well as IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and somatic therapy techniques.
