Rachel is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare from Stockton University, and she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University with a focus on Clinical Social Work in their Advanced Standing Program.
Prior to joining Artemis, Rachel has experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds in other settings, including: partial care, alternative school settings, and in-home crisis intervention through New Jersey’s Department of Children & Families Children’s System of Care (CSOC).
Rachel works primarily with children and adolescents with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has completed Level 1 and 2 training for EMDR and has a growing specialization in treating childhood anxiety and OCD through evidence-based treatments, specifically Exposure & Response Prevention. Rachel’s treatment style focuses on integrating parents and making them an active participant in their child’s treatment when appropriate. Sometimes this is done as needed in an unstructured manner, while other times Rachel will use evidenced based parenting/family based treatment approaches. Rachel is specifically trained in the S.P.A.C.E. protocol (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), which is an approach that targets anxiety and OCD related concerns in children and adolescents by working with the parents to reduce accommodation and the impact the child’s anxiety and OCD has on the family.
