“As a mother, I know the paradox of feeling, simultaneously, that being a mom is the most important role and also the most scary and overwhelming job in life. This knowledge is at the heart of my approach to Maternal Mental Health. Feeling conflicted and overwhelmed is a state to which not only mothers can relate. I understand that life circumstances can leave one feeling hopeless and helpless, but there is hope and there is help. As a professional, I have witnessed time and again the power accurate information, solid resources, and compassionate support can have to transform even the most dismal circumstances. It is my strong desire to bring this powerful combination to all those with whom I work, as they discover more deeply their own inner resources and strengths.”
