Johnnie Taylor, III, MA, LAC

Johnnie is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University. Johnnie has worked with many clients who feel they have been unable to live their lives happily as a result of many different kinds of roadblocks. He supports and guides his clients to identify and remove these roadblocks so they can experience life with an improved sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Johnnie recognizes that taking the first step is often the hardest part for many when addressing their mental health. He believes everyone has the capacity to overcome any obstacle in life with the proper support. Johnnie knows that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so he utilizes an eclectic mix of approaches with a primary focus on Humanistic therapy.

Johnnie specializes in working with teens and adults with ADHD. In addition to working with people individually to address these concerns, Johnnie also works with parents and families providing additional support to the client and the impact the client’s concerns are having on themselves and the family. He draws upon his training in Parent Management Training (PMT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) therapy as his primary ways to support parents and families. Johnnie also has training in providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) therapies aimed at treating anxiety and trauma-related disorders.

"The relationship between therapist and client has been shown to be the most important factor when determining success in the therapy process. It is this knowledge that pushes me to ensure that those I work with feel heard, understood, validated, and above all else empowered to live their most authentic life".
