Joya Blount is a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey. Joya graduated from Stockton University with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. She also completed her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree at Stockton University in Psychology. Joya has experience providing therapy to children, teenagers, and adults struggling with mostly anxiety and depression. Joya has worked with teenagers who were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder assisting them with navigating social situations related to relationships, friendships, and overall life as an adolescent.
Joya subscribes to a person-centered approach in therapy. She believes that her clients are “the captain of their own ship” and she is there to guide them as needed while creating a strong, genuine therapeutic relationship that benefits the client throughout the therapy process. Joya believes that empathy and being wherever the client is, is key.
